Embracing Purpose Over Hustle: A Reflection on My Muslim Empowerment Experience
Saturday, October 22nd, 2022 | 10:00 am
Alhamdulillah…
I’ve finally found a sense of purpose in paying closer attention to my email subscriptions. One of the first that caught my attention was Muslim Empowerment. Initially, I came across it when I was searching for those minimalist Islamic planners—those that get shared on WhatsApp or elsewhere. At the time, I didn’t realize how much more I would gain from their offerings.
Though I had signed up for their worksheets (which are not exactly planners), they didn’t quite make it onto my desk as I expected. But in the middle of this year, just before the second wave of COVID-19 hit Brunei, and as my son was finally settling into a routine with his school and therapy, I found myself ready to work on my own personal goals. It was at this moment that I stumbled upon a webinar series that I joined on a whim.
And I have to say, Alhamdulillah, it turned out to be completely worth it.
From Burnout to Realignment
Before this, I had been working tirelessly on my Paragraphic Journal, which, while rewarding, led to a minor burnout. I found myself cutting down on social media to reclaim some space in my life. I wanted to unwind, refocus, and finally give some attention to the things that truly mattered to me. But then… Boom! The lockdown hit. Along with homeschooling, home therapies, and all the chaos that comes with it, my well-laid plans were completely thrown off course.
I’m not one to subscribe to the relentless hustle culture that’s so popular these days. I wanted to find an alternative, a gentler way forward. That’s when I came across a mindset shift introduced by Aimen Saifullah, one that felt incredibly practical and aligned with my values.
The Value of Muslim Empowerment’s Approach
Now, a disclaimer: To each their own. I know there are others out there in similar niches, but what draws me to Muslim Empowerment is the detail with which their content is laid out. Their platforms are carefully structured, filled with valuable resources, worksheets, and even free webinars that make the content feel tangible and accessible.
What’s also been a blessing is that the timing of these webinars has aligned perfectly with my schedule. The session I attended was scheduled at 1pm GMT, which conveniently fell at 9pm here—making it doable for me to participate without too much disruption to my family responsibilities.
A Transformative Learning Experience
The class itself was engaging and well-organized. With the year coming to a close, it was the perfect opportunity for everyone to reflect on personal projects and plans for a fresh start. What I truly appreciated was the level of interaction from the participants. It wasn’t just another session with static slides. Aimen went beyond that, illustrating the core concepts in a way that felt alive and practical.
In addition to the valuable PDF notes that were shared, the session was also recorded. I believe these recordings, along with the notes, will be shared via email to all subscribers, which adds incredible value for those who may have missed it or want to revisit the material.
Looking Ahead with Intentions
All in all, I’m genuinely excited about this new phase. I’m so glad I joined this session, and I’m already looking forward to the next one, in shaa’ Allah. Muslim Empowerment has truly given me a fresh perspective, one that is rooted in simplicity and intention—a mindset shift that will continue to guide me in the months ahead.
In these uncertain times, it’s a blessing to find resources that help realign your focus and reignite your passions. It’s about taking things one step at a time, with purpose and heart.
May Allah continue to guide us on this journey.
