iManifest (ʾīmān + mæn.ɪ.fɛst) is the debut product and freebie under my project #deenfluencer. The inspiration comes from reading this book, and how I fell in love with the concept of Tazkiyah. It is a term that means “purification of the self” but in the process of growth, spiritually and mentally, in Deen.
While introspection plays a key role in this process, some areas may be overlooked depending on each individual’s state of mind. It’s no secret, to write down your thoughts and feelings to understand them more clearly, but when you’re wrapped up in pressure towards year-end and an overlapping surge of reflections that happened in the earlier months come rushing in, some are just left with a blank page.
They look at their desk planners and find them filled up consistently in the first trimester, and then no more. That is because the focus is “New Year, New Goals”… a new me and rarely a better me.
While the end of the year is the time most of us are talking about results, it is also the time of revelations and realisations. This guided journal will help the growing Muslim introspect, and find himself/herself so that they can start the process of Tazkiyah.
It is a 40-page workbook, addressing the general Muslim lifestyle while maintaining a borderless drawing board so that one can set their own pace in introspection. Set for 90 days targetting the last three months of the year, the user can use these pages as a headstart for their plans for the following year by wrapping up the year as early as this October.
Some pages are designed like a planner to plot certain personal goals in growth as a Muslim so that there could be a 3-month trial and error stage before the new year starts with better habits to continue, as well as a better outlook. Of course, this is first and foremost a guided journal and should not get in the way of pre-planned targets and goals in the first place, which will mostly consist of career-related rather than personal growth.
NOTE: Before I forget the first thing to do before downloading this guided journal is to set a few minutes of journal time for yourself in your current schedule.
Because the layout is un-dated, this can be used and reused anytime a user is ready to start their process. I’ve published and released this in time for the last three months of the year, partly because it is the perfect timing to do this with year-end holidays coming and things naturally slow down with the season.
I have to include something that I would recommend for Muslims of this day and age. And that is to start your conviction circle, find other brothers and sisters in faith to talk about Islam in your daily or schedule conversations or meetings. It doesn’t have to be set up theatrically like a classroom or whatnot, but there is an institute that gives resources and even short training for these for free.
The topics are diverse and, in shaa’ Allah, it will help tighten the bonds of brotherhood and sisterhood in Islam and expand the horizons of perspective with shared knowledge.
In the middle pages of the workbook, dig deeper into getting to know yourself more, and dealing with fears, grudges, and habits to break (who says quitting is always bad?).
The last few deal with incorporating religious habits into your schedule, or improving them, especially Tawbah and Solat.
I’ve always stated that working around the Solat times is the best way to plan your day if you are in the majority, which are highly busy and progressive people.
Again this is not a planner, so some of the worksheets are in 3s, to work out the best possible scenario for incorporating your dream Islamic lifestyle, that you can implement as early as the upcoming year.
Last but not least, is an overall check-in and what are the next steps? This is followed by 12 simple Qur’an journaling pages made for the last 12 weeks of the year, to start the habit of reading, understanding and contemplating some Surahs of the Qur’an of the user’s choice. This is to help build this new and awesome habit.
So, that’s it!
This workbook is perfect for new Muslim converts who are overwhelmed with information from all sides, they can set their private time and space to adapt to the Islamic lifestyle. For reverts who are coming back into practice, or simply want to improve from their current state, in shaa’ Allah.
You can download this workbook for free and print it out for personal use only.
Check out our policy on the use of digital media from our website. I’ve included this as my latest content and pitched it for Messengers of Peace Academy Online Da’wah Training Program, for the practical portion of my training. In shaa’ Allah, it may benefit us all.
