Alhamdulillah…
It’s finally worthwhile paying attention to my email subscriptions. I followed Muslim Empowerment when I was looking for those minimalistic islamic planners online (ones that get circulated on WhatsApp or whatnot);
Although the worksheets I signed up for didn’t see the light of day (since it’s not really a planner), printed out and on my desk… sometime middle of this year, before the whole 2nd wave happened here in Brunei, and just when my son is getting into a routine with school and therapy;
Where and when I had quite a solid plan to work on my own personal agendas… This webinar series, which I joined on a whim, is proving to be worth the 1 hour even if it rolls out at 1pm GMT, which is 9pm here.
I worked myself up the months before, working on Paragraphic Journal causing a minor burnout, ultimately making me cut down on SocMed… I wanted to unwind, and finally focus on my things. Then boom! LOCKDOWN + home schooling + home therapies and everything in between.
I’m not a big fan of the HUSTLE culture, and searched for alternative ways… The simple mindset shift taught by Aimen Saifullah is what seemed most practical for me.
A disclaimer here: To each their own… And I have to admit that I found a few others with similar niches but what I’m drawn to on Muslim Empowerment is the DETAIL on how their content is laid out on all their platforms, accompanied with resources/worksheets and even free webinars.
I guess, it was also lucky that the sessions were held at a time that is doable for me.
The class played out really well, what with all the personal projects and plans everyone must have for a new start this year end. It was quite fun, with active participation from the participants, illustration of the topic/idea by Aimen and not static slides….
Apart from sharing the PDF notes Aimen also recorded the session. I believe this will be shared via email to the website subscribers.
I will definitely join the next one, in shaa’ Allah.
